British Motor Museum backs PR award

This year’s GOMW and MICA Young PR Professional of the Year Award is being supported by The British Motor Museum, a new sponsor to the Guild awards.

Home to more than 450 cars and a vast archive of technical drawings, styling sketches, films and magazines, the museum at Gaydon in Warwickshire offers a terrific resource for authors and journalists.

At the end of 2025, the museum trustees appointed Peter Armstrong as Chief Executive to lead a multi-year transformation programme that is currently in the research phase. Peter, who will join us to present the award, brings a track record of leading major museum transformations both here in the UK and in the US, where he was president of the award-winning Mystic Seaport Museum.

Friend of the Guild Richard Gotch, who is supporting Peter in this phase, says the plan is for the museum to become a national centre of heritage expertise for the UK automotive industry.

Meanwhile if you haven’t visited the museum in a while, it’s worth a reminder that Guild members get free entry as part of the benefits programme.

Members are asked to pre-book their visit by visiting the pre-booking page on the museum website to reserve their free entry timeslot. Select your visit date. Choose the ‘Annual Pass holders, complimentary & gift tickets’ option and click ‘Book a timeslot’. Select the ‘Guild of Motoring Writers’ ticket and complete the reservation free of charge. Your Guild membership card must be shown on entry to the Museum.
