All go at Copacetic magazine

Member Daniel Bevis has been in touch with the latest news on his new and fully independent publication Copacetic – a premium coffee table magazine for modified cars.

Daniel tells us the magazine is going from strength to strength; “We’re hard at work on Issue 9 which will be in shops in early October. An exciting development this month has been receiving confirmation that Copacetic will be an official media partner of the Classic Motor Show at the NEC in November; we’ll be curating a large display of modified classics, in collaboration with Zircotec – so if you’re at the show, be sure to pop over to hall 5 and say hi.”

Daniel adds that the magazine is keen to expand its involvement with shows and events. “Having formed the IDEA (Independent Driving Entertainment Alliance) – with Werke and Classic.Retro.Modern we’ve been partnering with (vehicle design and restoration specialist) Retropower to run some fun informal meets, the latest of which took place down in Weston-Super-Mare. 

“In October we’ll be displaying at Japfest Goodwood (again, say hello if you’re there), and before the NEC in November we’ll be popping over to SEMA in Las Vegas to spread the good word Stateside.”

Daniel adds that the USA is another area of growth the magazine is exploring; “We have a lot of demand from readers over there although, while subscription copies sail through customs with no problems, we’re unable to sell single issues as they tend to get refused at the border and returned (which they shouldn’t, but they do). 

“So robust international distribution is on the to-do list, as is the crucial matter of merch, as people are always asking us for t-shirts and stickers and whatnot. All of this requires cash to achieve, so we’re investigating the possibility of using the government-backed SEIS scheme to attract some seed investors to allow us to achieve the next set of goals.

“In short, there’s a lot going on. And if you fancy buying a copy and supporting independent print media, that would help enormously and be very much appreciated.”
