Final call for BYOVD 2026

Time is fast running out if you want to join in this year’s Guild Bring Your Own Vehicle Day, which promises an absorbing programme of automotive and aviation action.

The BYOVD events always provide plenty of interest, often going behind the scenes of their venues, and Chris Adamson has put together an excellent day’s activities around the New Forest.

This year’s day on 3rd October will start at the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum at Bashley near New Milton. Museum founder Sammy will be present with Guild member Alan Cathcart to show members the more than 500 rare and exotic motorcycles from around the world that have been gathered and restored by Sammy over the years.

Next up will be a 40-mile cross-country journey north through the New Forest, heading for the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection. Perhaps not one of the best known of aircraft museums, it’s well worth a visit, housing a vast array of operational and test aircraft, fast jet cockpits, helicopters, missiles, simulator trainers and the Royal Flying Corps Museum.

To join in you need an entry form from Chris – the only upfront cost is a nominal £10 per car administration fee payable to the Guild account at the time of booking. There will be a group entry fee for the Boscombe Down Collection of £12 per head, payable on the day. 

Chris can provide local hotel details for those travelling a long distance to join the event and there will also be the option of a dinner on the night before for those staying at the hotel and any local Guild members who would like to join them for the meal.

So don’t delay, email Chris now for your entry form, which must be returned by Friday 25th September. Then you can join fellow members for what is always an enjoyable and social day out.
