Classic show celebrates Haynes legacy

The Haynes Motor Museum will be staging its own signature classic car show next year, paying tribute to its founder and Guild member, the late John Haynes.

The John Haynes Classic, scheduled for Sunday 7th September 2025, will celebrate John’s legacy through a day filled with heritage, nostalgia and motoring passion. It will feature a curated collection of cars and motorcycles immortalised in the famous Haynes Manuals, which have guided countless DIY enthusiasts around the world.

Also included will be the Car Club Arena, featuring hundreds of veteran, vintage and classic cars and motorcycles, and a Live Show Paddock bringing motoring history to life with talks, debates, live music and a special vehicle parade.

Families and budding engineers will enjoy the Discovery Zone, where workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities will be available for adults and children alike. This zone offers hands-on learning experiences designed to inspire the next generation of automotive enthusiasts.

The South Somerset Artisan Market will feature a variety of local food, drink and produce, showcasing the best of regional talent.

Museum CEO Chris Scudds said that the inaugural edition of what is planned to be an annual event at the Somerset venue will mark 40 years since the museum was founded in 1985, and will be a celebration of a shared passion for classic cars and motorcycles.

“It’s going to offer something for everyone with curated car displays, car clubs, a fun hands-on learning zone, live entertainment and panel discussions, and a feast of local Somerset produce in the artisan market,” he added.
