Wings and wheels at Bring Your Own Vehicle Day
Stunning collections of aircraft and vehicles were on show for Guild members taking part in the 2017 Bring Your Own Vehicle Day.
Members met at Roger Dudding’s Studio 434 collection in Potters Bar, which has cars of all ages – including no less than 22 1970s/80s Aston Martin Lagondas – and all sorts of motoring memorabilia. Members also viewed the company’s impressive new classic car storage facility which is now nearing completion nearby.
Cars taking part in the event ranged from vintage MGs and classic Jaguars to modern sports and saloon cars, all of them given a short blast up the A1M to Old Warden aerodrome, where members gathered for guided tours of the Shuttleworth Collection of aircraft and vehicles. The visit coincided with the second day of the de Havilland Moth Club charity weekend, so there were plenty of vintage aircraft in the sky as well as on the ground.
Guild member Richard Dredge, who took part in his rare Alpine A610, was awarded a ‘spirit of the event’ prize by chairman Andrew Noakes consisting of a trophy and a range of car care products kindly donated by Autoglym.
