Members all the way for new Ferrari book

Guild members have been responsible for every aspect of the latest book from renowned motor racing historian Doug NyeFerrari 250 Testa Rossa Competizione/335.

Doug is of course a member, as is James Page, who edited the book, Martin Port who designed it and Philip Porter who published it through his company Porter Press International.

The subject of the book is a unique Ferrari, the only car built specifically for the experimental Tipo 142 four-cam 3.0-litre V12 engine. It made its debut at Spa-Francorchamps in May 1958 driven by Olivier Gendebien, but failed to finish the race.

The car was then fitted with a 4.1-litre Tipo 141 engine and taken over by the influential US team owner John von Neumann, to be campaigned in US races by Phil Hill and Richie Ginther.  The car was restored by Ferrari’s Classiche department in Maranello in 2024, when it was refinished in its 1959 livery of silver with a black stripe.

Porter Press International has a long history of producing authoritative and spectacular books on Ferraris. In March 2026 it published Ultimate Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona – The Definitive History, a two-volume set running to more than 550 pages, on which Guild member Keith Bluemel was a consultant. Octane magazine described the book as “a superbly illustrated, deeply researched and well-designed publication”.

Guild members also feature extensively on the Porter Press author roster. Recent titles include Ferrari 275 P – 0816: The Only Ferrari to Have Won Le Mans Twice by Keith Bluemel; The Last Eye Witness – the Pioneering Motor Racing Photography of Maurice Louis Branger 1902–1914 by Doug Nye; Ferrari 166MM Uovo and
