Working closely with the marketing and communications manager, the PR and communications specialist will be respnsible for the development of the PR function. Initial focus will be establishing the media contact list in various markets, then developing and harnessing these relationships to ensure the consistent flow of PR materials. The overall goal is to generate significant automotive media coverage for all the group's brands.

The role will also require the continuous development of PR and communciations content for all brands and encompass the day-to-day running of the brand social media channels.

Duties will include:

  • Working proactively to develop creative, imaginative and 'on-brand' content for all group brands. This includes but is not limited to: press releases and magazine content, advertisements, social media content, website content, brand literature, exhibition content, brand videos and presentations
  • Take sole responsibility for the day-to-day execution of the group PR with a specific focus on generating coverage within automotive and aftermarket trade magazines and websites
  • Take the lead in the day-to-day running and ongoing development of brand social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc)
  • Work closely with all departments to unearth and develop content ideas that will fuel PR and communication projects
  • Work with the marketing and communications manager to develop, coordinate and execute trade media advertising plans across selected marketing as a complement to PR activity
  • Providing support and guidance to other departments to enhance PR and communications activity in those areas/ regions
  • Ensuring that PR in respective markets is delivered with the awareness and buy-in of the company's distributor for the region
  • Working to promote the company's brand values and ensuring that all PR and communication activity falls within clearly defined brand guidelines

Essential Skills:

  • Direct PR and communication experience
  • A proven content writer across various mediums
  • B2B marketing experience
  • Experience of working in/ with European markets
  • Broad knowledge of the company's product range
  • Understanding of the automotive industry, specifically the automotive aftermarket
  • Social media savvy with direct experience of using such channels for business purposes
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent creative writing/ copywriting skills
  • Capable of working to deadlines
  • A strong eye for detail
  • Demonstrates initiative and imagination
  • Capable of developing creative solutions/ ideas

Desirable Skills:

  • Automotive industry or automotive PR experience
  • Experience of working to brand guidelines
  • Specific marketing or communications qualification (e.g. CIM)
  • Other language skills
