Job Purpose:

Effectively communicate all brand news to a UK and South Africa regional media audience and support the UK and SA dealer network. Be the lead person for activation and coordination of VIPs, influencers and brand ambassadors.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with members of the UK and South Africa, national and regional media – develop existing and forge new
  • Take the lead on comms plans to support the UK and SA dealer network / UK regional sales targets. Proactively identify key issues and prepare necessary materials to brief media and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure regular local media activations with all UK and SA dealers, play a central role in key message cascade, media briefings, overseeing dealer media interfaces and ensure on brand on target communications
  • Creation, production and distribution of all press material (press releases, Q&As, product briefings, speeches, key messages) and internal briefings
  • Utilise & activate brand ambassadors, partnerships and Art of Living experiences to enhance the brand – create and implement activation plans, however ad-hoc or strategic
  • Utilise and activate AML people assets ranging from CEO, EVPs/VPs, directors to regional president and UK/SA regional leadership – focus on business, industry and lifestyle publications as new media channels
  • Dealer PR – create local PR activations utilising dealer resources and demo cars, control the messaging and ensure key brand communications
  • All activities to be measured, reported and assessed to suit ROI
  • Lead messaging and provide direct support at UK based events as required
  • Shared ownership of UK press fleet; manage and coordinate placement of fleet with appropriate target media/VIPs/brand ambassadors, monitor fleet usage; identify objective results and orchestrate feedback loop
  • Develop and maintain working database of UK regional journalists, key opinion formers, influencers and brand ambassadors
  • Provide summaries of media coverage for variety of internal (i.e. board level) and external (i.e. dealership representatives) audiences as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree level of education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within business operations, and working knowledge of communication techniques
  • Experience of working in high pressurised environment working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – with attention to detail
  • Excellent product knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload in a methodical manner
  • High degree of digital/computer literacy with web-based & social media experience
  • Demonstrable evidence of new media and non-traditional media platforms
  • Knowledge and ideally, strong enthusiasm for automotive related activity
  • Excellent people skills – confident and outgoing, able to interact credibly and develop media relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Highly creative, self-motivated, reliable, positive and enthusiastic.
  • Must portray an image to both media and customers commensurate with the Aston Martin brand
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach
  • Works efficiently with others, building productive, collaborative relationships across departments, agencies and regions.
