This role will support Honda brand delivery on automotive predominantly, with a secondary consideration for motorcycle, lawn and garden, marine, ATV, generators and aftersales when required.

With accountability for supporting the Press Office and managing the proactive and reactive communications for Honda UK, you will positively influence the perception of Honda UK’s brand with key media, influencers, opinion formers and business stakeholders resulting in advocacy based sales.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the PR Managers in the press office by being a point of contact for enquiries from journalists, media, public and stakeholders. Always ensure their experience with Honda is ‘second to none’ and enquiries are dealt with quickly and professionally.
  • Work with the team to host networking, media and product launch events aimed at creating a positive public brand image for Honda across all PR communication channels.
  • Assist with the production of press releases, press packs, statements, film content and photography as directed by the team.
  • Support the senior Honda UK team in interviews and at large shows and events.
  • Be a personal ambassador and spokesperson for the Honda brand in the UK both externally and internally, developing first class relationship with relevant departments within Honda UK to maximise coverage opportunities. 
  • Work with the social and digital teams to feed in content developed by PR that can be utilised and maximised across multiple Honda owned channels.
  • Responsible for working with the car PR section manager to promote Honda UK within lifestyle media and working with the dealer and corporate PR agency to ensure top quality coverage for our retail networks.  Also responsible for Asimo, HondaJet and F1 activities as and when relevant and appropriate.
  • Ensure the Honda UK media website is up to date with all news, images and content.
  • Support Honda at shows and events such as Goodwood, Carfest and Motorcycle live with front facing media hosting.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate calibre or credible experience in public relations. Industry knowledge is advantageous but not a requirement.
  • Openness to flexible working as this role will require weekend working, evening entertaining and overseas travel.
  • Outstanding communications skills both verbally and in writing.
  • A people person and strong influencer able to impart information onto a range of personalities.
  • Extremely well organised, able to plan and manage several diverse tasks at once.
  • A ‘can do’ attitude, a passion for learning and a strong desire to be part of the Honda brand.
