Employer Haymarket

Location Twickenham

Job type Full time

As the editor of www.classicandsportscar.com, you’ll identify, grow and retain an online community to match the quality and reach of the world’s best-selling classic car magazine, enhancing its editorial brand among core and emerging audiences.

Working with the Group Head of Content, you’ll devise and manage the content agenda to grow its reach and influence among classic car enthusiasts using the expertise and tone for which C&SC is famed, while also using your own expertise to support the aims of the commercial team and explore new revenue streams.

The job will be to create great content, curate from elsewhere and ensure that the site is managed beautifully. You’ll be helping lead our off-site strategy, and be at the heart of discussions about our digital plans and direction.

Your mission will be to grow the right audience and revenue across platforms through engaging and entertaining content, blending your knowledge of data-based audience demand with a drive to explore and understand what classic car enthusiasts really need. You’ll be the ambassador for those findings with the editorial, product and commercial teams, acting as the voice of the enthusiast.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

● Work to tight budgets and deadlines to grow C&SC.com
● Commission great content to grow reach and influence, while improving audience engagement

● Improve the search profile
● Repurpose content as necessary for syndication to content partners, and creating/commissioning promoted content where necessary
● Interrogate analytics and communicate with the audience. Gauge what most satisfies the existing brand-loyal audience and attracts new audience and to massage content accordingly.
● Deep knowledge of the classic car world is preferable, but not essential; however, the successful applicant should always be ready to use the huge depth of experience within the team to cover any gaps in experience
● Manage and continue to grow the brand’s successful social media channels, developing a clear tone for each channel that doesn’t jar with the more traditional C&SC voice
● Investigate and analyse the benefits (or otherwise) of paywalls, costed content and membership models
● Take the lead in developing the strong relationship/friendship between the brand and its audience, giving it a new accessibility to its readership
● Create regular analytics-based reports for the remainder of the editorial team on traffic and content performance
