Guild launches editorial skills workshops
IS ADOBE InDesign a mystery? Do you want to set up your own website? Has the cost of courses stopped you? Here's a solution. The Guild of Motoring Writers and Coventry University have combined forces to run a series of excellent-value workshops for motoring writers who are keen to improve or expand their skills.
Lecturers from Coventry's MA in Automotive Journalism are running the sessions, along with specialists in particular fields, so attendees really will have the opportunity to learn from the experts. The initial courses – listed below – are being run back-to-back in September, and places are strictly limited. Members and non-members are invited to attend either or both events. And as you can see, we are bringing you this opportunity at a fraction of the cost of similar courses elsewhere.
Dates 2 September: Using Adobe InDesign, page layout 3 September: Blogs, Twitter and Facebook: how journalists can use social media. Price per course – GoMW members: £94 inc VAT; Non-members: £152.75 inc VAT.
This is your chance to hone your skills, using the latest trends and technologies, under expert guidance from those who are already teaching the motoring journalists of the future. Guild Chairman Charlotte Blight says: "This is an outstanding opportunity for members and non-members to learn from the best. These courses are incredibly good value, and we're delighted to join forces with Coventry University's team, led by Andrew Noakes, to provide them."
