Complete the following form. Boxes marked like this* are required. Once you have completed the form, click the preview button, and then print it out and send to the address given on the preview. Your application may be delayed unless every requirement is met.
Referees: These must be active members of the motoring press, or editors who publish your work. They may be contacted by the Guild.
Examples of work: To enable sufficient information concerning the application to be placed before the Committee, a selection of examples must be forwarded with the Application Form. This must include work from within the last twelve months. The applicant must also provide a brief autobiography (maximum 100 words) and three passport-sized photographs for inclusion in the Guild Newsletter and Yearbook, as well as for the membership card issued to full members on election.
Notes: All applications for membership are considered initially by an election Sub-Committee. This Sub-Committee meets every month. The Sub-Committee then refers all eligible applications to the main Committee at its meeting. All applications have to be passed by the main Committee at two consecutive meetings.
Responsibility of the applicant: Each applicant must complete and sign the Application Form, and send it with examples of work, autobiography, and three photographs. On election, members will be notified in writing by the General Secretary, normally within a few days, and will be invited to take up their membership which commences on receipt of an entrance fee and the annual subscription, calculated in one twelfths of the appropriate subscription, according to the month of election. Full Members paying annually by direct debit currently receive a 15% discount.
Subscription to the Guild is at the following rates:
